Swiss Association for the Study of the Liver

The Swiss Association for the Study of the Liver is a group of Swiss scientists and clinicians interested in liver biology and disease. It is a daughter society of the Swiss Society for Gastroenterology. The goals of the association are to:

• Promote research on the pathobiology of the liver and biliary system and in the prevention and treatment of hepatobiliary disease.
• Disseminate knowledge to scientists, health care providers and the public.
• Promote recognition for the discipline of hepatology.
• Establish mutually beneficial partnerships with organizations and agencies concerned with the prevention and cure of liver disease.

One of the main activities of SASL is the organization of multicenter clinical therapy trials in Switzerland. SASL can not answer requests concerning medical problems of individual patients. However, below is a list of Swiss Hepatology Centers that regularly participate in SASL studies. They might be able to provide information and help in individual cases.
